Leaving the Nest of Winter

Single stream rushes
below the white crust of ice —
joins in the thawing

Only child reaches
beyond the white sky’s riming –
joins in the flourish

    • Thank you so much, Priscilla. No matter where we live, our hearts are warm for spring, literally and figuratively. I appreciate you! ~Z

  1. There is so much here that is excellent. The tangible feeling of the images. The way the two Haiku play off each other, thawing informing flourish, the stream and child(hood). You pull off the sky riming, which is great, because we are already touching water, both stanzas already rhyming.
