Negative Film

hide beside the doorway
guarded steps of day fades
dank hues, the evening raids
gaining my view

ink the sky to match me
with water’s climbing sight
lose my eyes, reignite
in the ombré

restrained bellows break out
I cry, I cry, echoed
back, my vision erodes
negative film

  1. The middle stanza is the most intriguing. Inking the sky, losing sight, melting shadows. The “I cry, I cry, echoed” is good. The cry/cry back is the echo in-line. Nice. “Negative film” is the perfect ending. What is black and white and the reverse of black and white? What is known?

The middle stanza gives the poem a climax of its potential meaning of a faded life and feelings of anxiety. Superb! Keep it up Zander.
